The Vaseline War

Last night we stayed up late and it seemed to be a normal start.....Colin in bed (or so we thought) and a movie on... we kicked back! After about twenty minutes of silence from Colin's room i went to check on him....all was not well! There was a silent Vaseline War in progress and I interrupted it! The scene was Vaseline covered walls, toys, sheets, and baby! His beautiful blonde curls now covered in a greasy substance! OMG! How do you handle this...LAUGH....and so i did!
The bath proved to be nothing but water beading up on skin (the grease caused it to bead and stick) and hair that wouldn't wash clean! I quickly googled WAYS TO RINSE OUT VASELINE FROM HAIR. The answer was Baking Soda...which by the way DOES NOT WORK. On to Plan B....Shaving the Head! I felt like wailing into a tear fit as i watched his lovely greased hair fall to the floor...The result...a bald baby...an empty Vaseline Jar...and a lesson learned!
Thus concluded the Vaseline War!

Colin's first visit to the Dentist

Wow my little boy had his first visit to the Dentist! He did great! He held a giant mirror shaped like a tooth and let the dentist count his teeth! After his exam the dentist told us he has a healthy smile and NO cavities!!! YAY Great job Colin!

Christmas came and went...

We had a wonderful Christmas here at home!! It was our first quiet one!! Santa went overboard for Colin, but we have heard no complaints from him! Enjoy the pics....

We are busy

This week we are staying busy preparing for the Holidays!! I baked little pumpkin tarts today! I am taking them to a Potluck tonight with all the Military wives!
Jeremy went to NC and returned quickly...the paperwork had errors so he will return again in January (we hope). I am busy planning the Wives Christmas Party...lots of small details!

Colin played basketball this morning with me at the gym and it really wore me out! I think he had a lot of fun! I am trying to include him in my daily exercise! It seems to be working out well!

Jeremy left this morning for a week to do some combat training! He returns on Monday! He really is always coming and going.

Well thats all the news so far...new pictures coming soon!

This week so far...

Well we got our tree up as you can see...whats missing?? hahaha the lights and ornaments! Yes indeed what holiday season would be complete without things going wrong.. Jeremy lost the key to our storage unit so we cant get our Christmas decorations out!! All is ok because the locks will be changed withing the week..

Jeremy left for NC yesterday!! I have my fingers crossed that all goes well during the next two weeks. For those of you who don't know, Jeremy is going to SFAS....(special forces qualifications). Keep him in your prayers!

Colin and I will be keeping busy with Holiday planning and baking....i love love love to bake during the Holidays! Sadly, I do put a few pounds on during Christmas so i will be going to the gym daily!
On this coming Saturday Colin will visit Santa so those pictures will be up soon!!! Until next time...enjoy your family, and keep Jeremy in your thoughts and prayers!

Well Turkey Day has come and gone!! It was three long days of cooking for this big meal..Everything came out perfect..well the gravy..let me just tell you..the gravy gets me every year! it had a better consistency this time but other than that oops all was great!! I made papa's cocktail meatballs, spinach dip, pineapple wrapped in bacon, deviled eggs, cheese platter, veggie platter, and stuffed mushrooms to start the day! I stuffed a 22 pound turkey and glazed a 10 pound Ham!! Lots of sides and everyones FAVORITE..my green bean casserole!! I even made two pumpkin pies and a homemade apple pie...good stuff! The guys who came this year were single soldiers that Jeremy works with..They came hungry and left stuffed... All in all it was a great day.. Oh yea i forgot to mention..Jeremy helped out tremendously along the way!!!
I hope you all had a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING and please do a little black friday shopping for me...(being in Germany they dont do the biggest shopping day in the world!)
